Superior Pools Auckland fibreglass pool almost complete.
Stages of crafting a high quality fibreglass swimming pool.
How our fibreglass pools are made
Our fibreglass swimming pools are expertly hand-crafted to order, just for you. We transport our pools flat, one at a time, to make sure your pool is not put under any stress on its journey to your home. This is one way we make sure the high quality construction standards met during manufacture continue right through to delivery and installation.
Why does our construction process make our pools the best pools?
The first step - having the best materials. You want your pool to last and look vibrant for a lifetime and so do we. Superior Pools Auckland source our materials directly from the same source that our Australian competitors do, this way we know we are using the best in the market.
It is not just about sourcing the right materials, the second step is to expertly apply them. Superior Pools Auckland uses a purpose-built fibreglass facility in Tauranga to expertly handcraft all of our swimming pools. Fibreglass swimming pools need a very controlled environment so that the pools cure properly during the entire process. Our Tauranga factory is climate controlled.
Now we know we have the best materials and factory available, the third step is to use the best laminators with proven industry experience in swimming pools. Some of our team have over 25 years experience in manufacturing swimming pools. You can be assured every pool that comes from our Tauranga factory lives up to its Superior name.
Let’s have a look at what makes our pools superior.
Preparation: Our swimming pool moulds are expertly handcrafted. They are kept defect free and finished to a high standard.
Allnex Gelcoat application: Our pools are finished in a range of striking high performance gelcoats, specifically designed for the global pool market. These extensive colour and finish ranges are highly durable and exhibit outstanding weathering and fade resistance properties.
Epoxy vinyl ester resin: Vinyl ester resin is a high performance resin that provides improved strength and stops any water penetrating to the gelcoat, preventing osmosis. This resin coat is left to fully cure, before the entire pool is hand sanded and prepared for the structural coating.
Structural layer technology: Once the pool has been hand sanded and prepared following the resin coat, we then expertly apply four layers of structural fibreglass. As we are applying these layers we fibreglass-in rigid support structures to give your pool added torsional strength. We also enclose in the bond beam around the pool for further strength and bracing to make sure your pool retains its structural integrity, right through the warranty period.
Barrier layer: Once we have finished the structural components of the pool, we then finish with an expertly applied barrier layer, to ensure moisture does not get into the pool from the outside.
